US Presidents do not write laws or Amend constitutions. Congress does. The president can only recommend laws to congress.



The nations you mentioned have different laws regarding amendments than the US does.

The Legislatures can amend the Constitutions in the typical South American Country. Bottom line, we are a Union of solvereign States, and regardless of one Party controlling the Executive and Legislative branches, they would have to have 2/3 vote in both the House and Senate to bring a Resolution of Amendment. Top that with a requirement for 3/4 of the States Legislature approvals, the US Constitution is a bit difficult for one Ideology to influence. I still have faith in our System, and our People, and our Supreme Court and our Military. Finally, we have the Second Amendment, and millions of gun owners willing to defend the whole enchilada, if necessary. He doesn't have the power to do that, especially by himself.
He won't and can't, only Congress can do that, and if your one of those who believe that the US constitution is the sole authority of our government, and must be followed to the letter as originally written, you are wrong, several changes have been made, by amendments, and through actual deletions within the articles themselves. For example:

"No Person held to Service or Labour in one State, under the Laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in Consequence of any Law or Regulation therein, be discharged from such Service or Labour, but shall be delivered up on Claim of the Party to whom such Service or Labour may be due." was removed from Article IV section II by the 13th amendment.



Several more changes were made through history as well, in order to adapt to changing times.
