How similar are Bush and Obama? In what ways are they similar or different?

I don't know what you all think, but it seems to me that Bush and Obama are very nearly the same president. I mean, think about it. There's the looming federal deficit, three wars, growing the size of government when we should be shrinking it, and, most of all, the out-of-control spending that got us to where we are now.



So, if these two are supposed to be so different, then why do they appear to be the same president? Thoughts?How similar are Bush and Obama? In what ways are they similar or different?I don't think that they are anything alike, Bush used his pseudo Christianity to try and push his agenda and fire up the fundamentalists Christian right about gay marriage and abortion while his cronies ruined our economy. Obama is dealing with what was left behind and I think whoever the president is after Obama will still be dealing with the Bush mess. Make no mistake I think that Obama could and should be doing different things that he is doing. My opinion is that taxes should be raised before we even begin to think about cutting Social Security and Medicare, but that is just my opinion. Please when you vote in the next election don't let personal issues like gay marriage and abortion cloud the real issues like how to end the wars, how to build our economy back up and how to make the United States the world leader that we once were while creating jobs with living wages for all Americans. I am also a big believer in if you can work and just won't then you don't get anything, but how can you prove who can work and won't and who would like to work and just can'tHow similar are Bush and Obama? I know we have been conditioned almost since birth to believe our party, not their party is always right. However, hopefully people are starting to see it now.... Both parties are equally corrupt...

In what ways are they similar or different?first of all i am a strong liberal....now that being said you do make good points but i do disagree. a few big differences is that obama is creating jobs while bush lost jobs, obama saved the economy from the great recession while bush created the great recession, and obama actually did something to address the health care problem in our country (whether you agree with the bill or not) while bush did nothing. like i said before you make very good points but i just think your question is overly general...but if you look at the specifics they are very different.

Bush wasn't the best president in the world but he always had America's best interest at heart. Obama is definitely not the best president in the world and he has his OWN interests at heart.
