Obama has been handed a mandate on a silver platter. A decisive presidential win. A majority in both houses (and an almost filibuster proof one at that) and is still struggling.



Why is he struggling with his stimulus package and cabinet selections, when he has everything lined up for him?



Can it be that the questions over his inexperience are bearing fruit?How on earth could the Obama administration mess up so fast?harry k,



I couldn't agree with you more...the worst thing he's done so far (in addition to allowing lawsuits to skyrocket) is dropping the terrorism charges against the mastermind of the USS Cole bombing where my grandson and many other patriotic heroes gave their lives to protect all peace loving people.



The voters were brain washed by the liberal press nstead of listening to insightful words of wisdom such as these:



"Daily affirmation to Keep Obama Senator (KOS) and NOT elect him in '08 until he attains more presidentially pertinent experience; even if it takes a decade or more!!!

His ONLY struggle is getting Republicans to share blame.

He can get everything he wants WITHOUT them and WON'T do it.

He's simply trying to avoid following Clinton too closely.

-Clinton '92 was "Hope %26amp; Change."

-Clinton's first economic package was known in advance to be a financial debacle and NO Republicans voted for it.

-As a result, Clinton lost Congress in '94.

So far, Obama is following Clinton EXACTLY. He "needs" Republicans on board so he can BLAME them.

Ditto the cabinet selections. Clinton appointed criminal-after-criminal until we all just got weary of fighting them and the media started accusing us of playing politics. Then he got his full slate of corrupt and compromised cabinet members, just like Obama is doing.How on earth could the Obama administration mess up so fast?It funny that his approval rating has dropped from 75% down to 62% in two weeks, but the media isn't saying anything about this.



His stimulus package is a joke. I agree that we have to get something to get the economy going and reduce unemployment, but his bill has so much other junk in it that has nothing to do with stimulus. It looks like he is trying to pay back the groups that got him elected already!



This is a dangerous road he is going down and could get really bad before it gets better. He picked all the wrong people, got embarassed badly, and hasn't done a positive thing yet.
I fail to see how 22% of the population voting for you is a "mandate" or "decisive".



And before people start in with the "he got 52%" crap I need to make two points:

1. 52% isn't a mandate or decisive either.

2. Obama got 67,066,915 votes. Divide that into the total US population (estimated at 300,000,000) and you get 22%... it is called math.How on earth could the Obama administration mess up so fast?I have no idea but it really sucks!!! they got us into two wars, they destroyed the constitution of the united states of america - our very foundation, they transferred wealth from the public sector to the private sector i.e. halliburton by way of iraq war then on the way out they transferred debt from the private sector to the public sector via wall street bail out, they commited treason by outing CIA agents during a time of war, they comprimised our security while claiming to keep us safe, the created a secrecy around the white house to keep their bad deeds hidden and they totally destroyed our economy to the point it may collapse any day now!!!!

He's gotten a lot of help from Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. This country would be willing to spend that kind of money IF they thought it was going to do some good. But if all it does is line the pockets of Democrat backers and push Democrat ideas, I see a change in leadership and control in both the House and the Senate in 2012.



As far as his appointees goes that is obviously just not checking the backgrounds closely enough.
I thought the whole reason he was elected was to pull the troops out of iraq. He has the total ability to say a massive move out of troops in one week. there is absolutly no reason he can't do that. He is way in over his head. The only thing he knows how to do is talk, and that isn't working for him anymore. His ability to speak well in public is all his administration has. Raise your hand if you knew this would happen! People should have known that fancy rhetoric isn't what we need! we need someone who actually knows what they are doing, not some Illinois senator. I live in Illinois, and trust me, NOBODY from around here should be anywhere near DC!
Drastically unqualified. This is what happens when you let that warm fuzzy feeling over ride common sense and reason and place someone in a job they are not fit to do. Liberalism dictates that "feelings" shall hold court over reason and common sense, hence, a failure.
He talks the talk, but he doesn't walk the walk. Every one of his cabinet appointments was a political hack, a Washington insider, a lobbyist, and besides that we are finding out many are crooks. Just the same old crap over again.
Obama finally has to do something and be responsible for the consequences a new concept for him as far as I can tell. He cannot vote present anymore. Maybe that is the reason for his recent rants showing what a crybaby he is.
He doesn't have a filibuster-proof Senate, that is why Senate Republicans are not going along with him.



Daschle was an early supporter and Obama wanted to reward him. They did not vet him as thoroughly as they should have.

I called it a monumental mistake to elect him... I love this country, however, it saddens me to see it fall so far... so quickly.

8 years is not fast in my book. It started when Obama invaded Iraq using false info to dupe the US.

Probably in the same way Bushy's inexperience helped subject this country to disaster just 8 months into his first term. At least Obama is working. Bush spend over a 1/3 of days on vacation before 9/11 including that day in August 2001 when he received that now infamous intelligence briefing on his Ranch in Crawford. Bush Vacationed a record 879 days during his eight years in office. Contrast that to Reagan, who vacationed only 350 days in his eight years, even though Reagan was extremely old and had Alzheimer's Disease to boot.
