Should we start referring to the Obama movement as the Obamatown colony?

The parallels between the Jonestown Colony and the Obama movement, with people fainting and thinking a politician could change the world are eerie. They both turned out to be huge scams that tore apart people's lives and destroyed their hopes and dreams. I can't think of a more cruel thing to do, to build up a person's hope for personal gain. Was becoming president really worth it?Should we start referring to the Obama movement as the Obamatown colony? What is your point in just wanting to insult and upset people? When you meet your maker will you be proud to say that's how you used your life? Are you working for the Dark Side?

Just compare Obama supporters to the traits of cult members. That's what scary.

American Family Foundation (14 Characteristics)

1. The group is focused on a living leader to whom members seem to display excessively zealous, unquestioning commitment.

2. The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.

3. The group is preoccupied with making money.

4. Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished.

5. Mind-numbing techniques (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, debilitating work routines) are used to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s).

6. The leadership dictates sometimes in great detail how members should think, act, and feel (for example: members must get permission from leaders to date, change jobs, get married; leaders may prescribe what types of clothes to wear, where to live, how to discipline children, and so forth).

7. The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s), and members (for example: the leader is considered the Messiah or an avatar; the group and/or the leader has a special mission to save humanity).

8. The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which causes conflict with the wider society.

9. The group's leader is not accountable to any authorities (as are, for example, military commanders and ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream denominations).

10. The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify means that members would have considered unethical before joining the group (for example: collecting money for bogus charities).

11. The leadership induces guilt feelings in members in order to control them.

12. Members' subservience to the group causes them to cut ties with family and friends, and to give up personal goals and activities that were of interest before joining the group.

13. Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group.

14. Members are encouraged or required to live and/or socialize only with other group members.Should we start referring to the Obama movement as the Obamatown colony?I'm sorry but do you just need to pay attention today. President Obama is trying to fix the s--- he walked into. I hope and pray that every one stay focus on the problems he is trying to address so that other nation will respect our country. The one thing I want is for every one to give him a chance to fix all the bull that happen before you even know who President Obama was. We drank the kool-aid when Former President Bush was in office people wake up change doesn't happen fast.
I am not seeing or hearing of people fainting over Obama. Thus, you are disgorging neocon BS once again. Further, there are no parallels between the two. If anyone crushed the hopes and dreams of the masses, it would be Bush and his neocon cabal, who drove the economy into the ground. They are ready getting the canisters of cyanide to mix with the Kool Aid for the November 4th mass suicide after they get slaughtered in the midterms.
That's just the most bizarre thing I've heard yet. Compared to you, the TeaBaggers actually seem sane.
