Obama increased deficits from Bush's average 3% to 11% GDP, whereas in Greece they sport 13%. In fact they claimed that their deficits were below 10% until they were caught by auditors, which will also inevitably happen with Obama's budgets once Ron Paul passes the law requiring hinest audits. Why does Obama expect that failed Greek model of profligate welfare state can work in America?Because apparently they don't teach business and economics at the Harvard Law School and Barry never picked up that knowledge during his stint as a Community Organizer.
Barry's education and 'experience' lead him to believe that welfare and gross entitlements lead to a peachy way of life.
@Sue: Taxes are the least of their concerns. In Greece, the government mandates that:
1. People work for 12 months but must be paid for 16.
2. People can retire at 45 and receive full pension and medical benefits.
3. The government is by far the biggest employer. It hires so many people that even the Greeks cannot make a fair determination how many people actually work for the government. Can you say 'stimulus'? During the last string of GDP numbers coming out of the Obama administration, 70 to 80% was the result of government, not private sector hiring. In our nation the average compensation for a government worker exceeds that of the private sector.
So, yeah. Tax cheats are the real problem. Dream on, sister. Why does Obama expect that failed Greek model of profligate welfare state can work in America?
You mean the Greek system where people rampantly evade their taxes? Why does Obama expect that failed Greek model of profligate welfare state can work in America? It sure seems that way.

Hey Anton most of the southern European countries use the model of Greece, Spain, Portugal, France and Italy ! The debt crisis is because the Euro is tied to all the economies, this was a requirement for entry ! It is the reason Germany, Britain, France and others are obliged to help !Why does Obama expect that failed Greek model of profligate welfare state can work in America?Greece also didn't develop their infrastructure, or improve markets and trade. Obama is doing all three. That's why they are in trouble. Why does Obama expect that failed Greek model of profligate welfare state can work in America?
He doesn't. Our democracy is not akin to the one in Greece. Neither is our economy. Check it out on Wiki.
Oh, but it DOES work.
The question you missed is . . . What exactly are his REAL intentions for our country? Why does Obama expect that failed Greek model of profligate welfare state can work in America?
You comparing apples to oranges, or in this case, burgers to gyros..
Do you enjoy living in an alternate reality where everything the American government and American people do is wrong.
You might think you are somehow singling out Obama but you are inadvertently mischaracterizing our economy ad naseum.
Meanwhile you also cut Bush's actual deficit ratio spending more than in half for some reason.
Feel free to live and express yourself in lala land - but while doing so, don't expect your words to have any bearing on the actual events in the real world.
