What are some specific things Obama wants to do as president?

I know he wants to bring about change. I know that people all across the nation are ready to work on all the problems he has identified in the country. But, just because I can tell you what's wrong with my car, that doesn't make me a mechanic. What is going to bring about change in an Obama presidency? What are some specific things Obama wants to do as president?Does he ever have town hall meetings and just answer people's questions? I would find that very interesting. He says almost the same thing in every speech. I never get motivated at all. I just want somebody to fix the problems.

Is it that he is really that popular, or is it that the media makes everything Hillary says into a negative? The political machine. What do people think Obama is but a political machine? What are some specific things Obama wants to do as president?
Take any and all(if he can) of your money and feed it to the health care industry to support his so called Health care program. What are some specific things Obama wants to do as president? All I hear when he speaks, is HIGHER taxes. MORE Gov. spending. Higher health insurance premiums and a lot of sweet talk, which frankly gives me a toothache.

Edit: If he taxes big oil companies, GUESS WHO WILL BE PAYING THOSE TAXES? Not the oil companies, but US consumers..
stop lobbyists from controlling the senate

be energy independent

take soldiers out of iraq..focus on bin laden

put more money into our childrens education

save social security

just a couple off the top of my head

www.barackobama.com/issuesWhat are some specific things Obama wants to do as president? Why oh why can't people figure out how to go online and do some simple research?

He is working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan.

Knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America's addiction to oil, he's working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars.

He traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world.

He supports raising the minimum wage.

He believes 20% of US energy needs to be met by renewable resources by 2020.

He belives in securing the borders by more border patrol and better technology and require employers to verify employees immigration status. What are some specific things Obama wants to do as president?
I don't know why people keep saying Obama works well with republicans and Independants, when the only time he has, was when he was appointed to a bipartisan committee in a Republican held Senate.

And most of his speeches are still based on the same speecjes he used in his 2004 Senate campaign.

And most of the work he did was on ethics or other similar issues.

He has never actually presented a major piece of legislation or even worked on one.

As for his always being against the war in Iraq??

"MR. RUSSERT: But if you had been a senator at that time, you would have voted not to authorize President Bush to go to war?

MR. OBAMA: I would have voted not to authorize the president given the facts as I saw them at that time.

MR. RUSSERT: So you disagree with John Kerry and John Edwards?

MR. OBAMA: At that time, but, as I said, I wasn't there and what is absolutely clear as we move forward is that if we don't have a change in tone and a change in administration, I think we're going to have trouble making sure that our troops are secure and that we succeed in Iraq.

MR. RUSSERT: We can't withdraw the troops immediately?

MR. OBAMA: I don't think so."
He is going to tax Oil biggies for all the money they are making, record breaking, and putting some money back into programs and government. He is going to tackle the problem of healthcare in this country that has gotten out of hand. You have Oil companies digging on federal lands and they are not being taxed for their profits that is wrong. While the middle to lower class folks are bearing the brunt. What are some specific things Obama wants to do as president?
It is none of our business. We won't be the president. He is going to be the president. He will decide what to do. It is like when your boss doesn't have to tell you what he is going to do. Or your teacher decides what to do. We should just have faith in him and let him be a great president. Just trust him.
Hmmmmmm....

That's a great question......
These things are enumerated in most of his speeches. You guys just aren't listening.

"He'd better be specific or Hillary will beat him"

You mean like she has in Washington, Louisiana, Maine, Nebraska, Virginia, Maryland, and D.C.?

Oh wait. She lost all those. Nevermind.
Their speeches are probably wrote by some one else. They tell you what you want to hear and lower the boom when they are president. Look at our president now, did he do everything he said he would probably not. Everyone vote for their choice this is one of your free rights. And hope it gets counted.

Queen Bee
These are things I like.....

1. Give students for more aids so they don't have to get so many students loans in exchange for some community service

2. Allow teachers to go to college free so they won't have so much debt after school

3. Adjust minimum wage according to the economy instead of over years of time.
He wants "Change", but who knows what that means. He'd better be very specific or Hillary will beat him.
End the war in 16 months, pursue diplomacy, and drive down prices of health insurance premiums even more significantly than Hillary plans to.
He wants to CHANGE! Now shut up and obey - he's our saviour.

Oh wait...scratch that. I'm not a typical Obama supporter. (Or one at all)
speak
Here are ten things I think Obama wants to do as president:

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rents of land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools.
HE DOES NOT WANT "CHANGE!!!"

By Steve Holland

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama said on Wednesday the United States must be willing to strike al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan, adopting a tough tone after a chief rival accused him of naivete in foreign policy.

Obama's stance comes amid debate in Washington over what to do about a resurgent al Qaeda and Taliban in areas of northwest Pakistan that President Pervez Musharraf has been unable to control, and concerns that new recruits are being trained there for a September 11-style attack against the United States.

Obama said if elected in November 2008 he would be willing to attack inside Pakistan with or without approval from the Pakistani government, a move that would likely cause anxiety in the already troubled region.

"If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will," Obama said.
Why am I voting for Obama?

- Works well with republicans/independents

- Can unite a house and senate and bring real progress, or "change" as everyone loves that word in 2008. Obama used it in his campaign long before Hillary, mind you.

- Wants to resolve the war and set up a govt. in Iraq.

- Wants to end Bush tax cuts

- Wants everyone to be provided health care. He won't go after your wages, though. Unlike Hillary.

- Wants to rehaul education and make college affordable.

His overall integrity is what makes me love him so much, combined with the above.
He would like to establish a dialog with his fellow Muslims, then try for some kind of alliance.

Of, Course he won't say a word about this until after he is elected
Don't ask his supporters on here, they don't know what they are supporting. I asked a series of questions asking which candidates' stance they agreed with but instead of using names I used A-D and switched around the order each time. Some geniuses answered "Obama" since they couldn't guess which one was him, and some people on here I see routinely promoting Obama as the best picked the stances of other candidates (often Romney or McCain). Apparently some Obama supporters were so offended when confronted with actual issues a couple of those questions were flagged and removed. I guess I was supposed to put "change" as his stance for each issue.
He is just another career politician, just say what the people wants to hear. The main change that he wants to do is be the first black American president. That's all the change... The media and the big shots are afraid the criticize him, just like what they do to CLINTON, because they don;t want to be accuse of racism..
