Also, I am curious to hear, in great detail, why or why not you think Obama is a good president. How much criticism of Obama is just politics, and how much do you think is sincere?I think most of it is sincere. A lot of Republicans are complete nutters, so they sincerely believe that virtually any liberal is the Antichrist.
I don't think Obama is turning out to be a great president because he keeps trying to seek bipartisanship with folks who don't do bipartisanship when he should be singlemindedly accomplishing his vision for America - i.e. the stuff he was voted in to accomplish.
Obama seems to be turning out to be yet another wishy-washy liberal who is more than willing to sell the country out to to big business interests and to let the Republicans bully him. It's kinda like Clinton all over again. How much criticism of Obama is just politics, and how much do you think is sincere?
Let's look at Obama's accomplishments so far.
1. He has expanded government spending on abortions.
2. He has secured just under a trillion dollars for stimulus spending, the vast majority of which hasn't been spent.
3. He bailed out General Motors and a number of banking institutions.
4. He has doubled the national debt.
5. He is working hard to make a universal healthcare program his legacy. So far, he is not successful.
Would these accomplishments make anyone a good president? Has the criticism been been fair and sincere? In politics nothing is fair or sincere, its just about political power building. You can ask if the criticism of President Bush was fair. I think that all politicians are dirty rotten scroundrels. However, I also believe that the mainstream press thinks Obama is faultless, and they worship him.How much criticism of Obama is just politics, and how much do you think is sincere? It really depends upon the person. Some people have no ideals and care only for winning. For them it's always politics. Some people are always idealistic and sincere. Most are a combination of the two.
I think most Republicans genuinely don't want a public option as a matter of principle. In that sense they are sincere. However, they often resort to tactics and rhetoric they don't believe in and know is pure politics.
I'm really not sure yet whether Obama is a good president or not. I need more time. He has yet to wow me, but he hasn't done anything that really upsets me either. Whatever he is though, I don't think he's the golden god I was enamored with during the election season.
His length of time in office has not really been long enough to judge if he is a good President.
The public has no idea who this guy is, mostly because he has not been in the public all that many years.I am not sure of the facts but I do not even think he has held an elected position for more than six years. I am starting to see where he is making errors because of it.
I do not believe the lack of experience makes or breaks his skills of being a good president, however the lack of seasoning has not built up a very thick skin.He is always quick to point out the mess the Bush adminstration left him and yet willing to ask for kudos when he is continuing a Bush policy. I guess that is a way outm if it does no6y go wrong.
I think his biggest mistake in judging what the folks want is what he said to the joint sessions of congress, after all the town halls on healthcare he was still talking about what he called the lies, disregarding the concerns of all of us who are okay with the health care that we have.
I also resent the way his supporters talk about those who don't agree or question any of his policies and throw out the racist label.
Believe I want my president to succeed, but I don't agree with the thinking the historical factor of being the first black president we can not have him fail, so we all must agree.
In my life time I think the biggest failure of a president was Jimmy Carter, but I think Carter was a great man.How much criticism of Obama is just politics, and how much do you think is sincere?I think that what you are seeing is a great orator with little practical experience. Problems can be solved by setting deadlines and throwing money at the problem. At present the country is near bankruptcy, with owing China about 5 trillion dollars. Something bad has to be going to happen when you have the trade deficit that we are seeing, and the huge trillion dollar budget deficit. Its not going to be pretty especially with the trillion dollar deficits that health care plan will generate. Since the administration calls the town halls full of mobs and they won't listen, we are headed for the depression of all depressions. Our unfunded deficit for items like social security is about 59 trillion dollars, an amount impossible to pay off.How much criticism of Obama is just politics, and how much do you think is sincere?
Let me first say that this partisan bickering is deadly to our republic. A president should be measured by how closely his views and that policies that he signs in to law follow the Constitution, nothing else. I am afraid that Obama's views are not in harmony with the Constitution but I have nothing against him personally and I wish him no ill.
That's the problem: NO ONE KNOWS if he is a good or bad President. We are only 9 MONTHS INTO A 4 YEAR TERM!!
Many Republicans are still crying because he won the election. If they don't agree with anything he does, or if he or someone in the cabinet makes a mistake, they automatically want to call him the worst President ever.
Really ridiculous of these people, and stupid of Fox News...How much criticism of Obama is just politics, and how much do you think is sincere?
In my opinion that depends on who is answering.
Here is my (random) statistic:
67% whining
10% thinking about his second term
22% don't just going along with the rest
1% sincere

I'd be real disappointed if Republicans seriously got upset about what kind of mustard Obama likes on his hamburger.
But who can tell with this bunch!
Everything seems to be The End of the World for them.
It's hard to say. Many of the criticisms by right wing extremists are simply lies, but the people who believe them are delusional, so they sincerely feel and believe their criticisms.
this country wasn't founded on radical ideas and this POTUS Obama is ruining this country by spending us into generational debt. He is a disgrace!
Not sincere and that's coming from Sincere Advisor :-)
How much of it is just Sour Grapes and Racism?
