Right now, to northern observers, Leo is very low on the horizon (most of it doesn't rise above the horizon).
You can find Leo by following the back 2 stars of the Big Dipper's bowl in the opposite direction from the North Star. About twice as far as the North Star is from the Big Dipper you will come to bright Regulus, which is the star in Leo's "sickle".
