What are two similar things you can compare in our solar system?

I have to teach a lesson comparing two similar things on the topic i have chosen about the solar system. I wanted to do a lesson on constellations but don't know what I would compare to a constellation. One example my teacher showed us was he did cephalopods and compared octapus to squid. I am lost for what I can do mine on. Thanks for any help. What are two similar things you can compare in our solar system? That sounds like alot of fun! I remember doing something similar when I was teaching Economics as part of our schools Student Teacher Activity Program.

This is what i would personally do for it would create a little interest and shock and awe for your class.

I would compare the largest crater on earth to the largest crater in the solar system.

The largest crater on earth is the Vredefort crater in South Africa. It has a diameter of 300Km. That is a big impact crater! The next largest crater on earth is the Sudbury crater in Canada with a diameter of 250km!

But those are babies compared to the largest in our solar system!

The moon has an impact crater sized at 2,500km! That's ten times larger than the biggest found here on Earth!

But lets not forget about our red neighbour, Mars. In the Northern Hemisphere of Mars is the Borealis basin. The Borealis basin is believed to have been caused by a massive impact 3.9 billion years ago, early on in the solar system.

The Borealis basin is a crater the size of Australia, Asia and Europe combined. At 8,500Km (5,300 miles) in diameter it is, by far, the largest known impact crater in our solar system.

The Borealis basin crater is 28 times larger than the Vredefort crater found in South Africa.

For students who have yet to study the solar system in detail, this would surely turn some heads, initiate interest in your lesson and create some drama!

Goodluck! What are two similar things you can compare in our solar system?Constellations are not in our solar system. How about Earth and Venus. What are two similar things you can compare in our solar system?Compare the rings arouns uranus with the rings around saturnWhat are two similar things you can compare in our solar system?
Constellations are not in our solar system.

How about comparing the rings of Saturn with the rings of Uranus, or with the astroid belt?

Edit - Oh, Mistyeye already said this. How about the volcanoes on Venus to those on Earth? Or, the canyons on Earth to those on Mars?
