What actually happened was W made a big speech about how he was directing NASA to start these grandiose plans for a Moon base and a trip to Mars. Then he turned right around, and slashed NASA's budget, so they were designing these things on a show string.



President Obama wants this planned and designed carefully. The specific plans are now toast, but the money to design it properly has been restored, so the project is not dead.



And if you want NASA to continue to move forward, quit voting for people who invade places like Iraq, at a couple of trillion dollars per invasion.
