I don't expect anything to happen. It's going to take more than a year or two to reverse the disastrous policies that have impacted the economy during the Bush years. Heck I'm not sure if I expect Obama to fix it in his first term. These things take time, especially considering where he is starting from.
Higher small business and coorporate taxes and entitlements will kill the US economy. (taxing folks making $250k hits small business, please become familar with the tax codes before claiming all folks making $250k are rich)

Watch the news. The economy is failing and it is failing due to the Republican deregulation mania. Why in the world would you expect McCain, who yesterday was saying that there is too much regulation to become the McCain of today that is calling for strict regulation? We aren't blaming Bush, we are blaming the whole Reaganomics, trickle-down, no regulation philosophy that has brought us to this failure. There would be no reason to think that the same people who got us into this would be the best choice to get us out.
Actually, the county is messed up so badly right now, neither candidate will be able to repair it fully and I think the people voting for Obama want to feel secure in getting away from the Bush crap that got us here. In case you didn't know, the countries that own our debt (majority) are Russia and China. God help us all.
He will do nothing, I repeat nothing but raise taxes--you heard him and his running mate, of all things, said it is unpatriotic not to pay more taxes. Both these guys are so out of it. I am a middle class black woman and I own a business and I am not voting for Obama. I consider myself to be more conservative and therefore I will more than likely vote on the independent right. I do not agree with his democratic policies in general. Including I do not think big government is best for the country, not just black people . He repeatedly says he will raise taxes. I also hear everything he says about universal healthcare but he will have no choice except to raise taxes to pay for this.

As a business owner, I do not agree with this blanket statement that taxes should be raised on businesses. I feel that will make it harder for me to retain employees. How does that help black unemployment? I don't agree with his immigration policy. I feel illegal immigrants should not be granted amnesty. I think we need someone in office who is an experienced businessman who understands the outdated role of the Federal Reserve, that the dollar will soon be an outdated currency because currencies only last so long, and that the current tax laws need to be trashed and totally revamped and simplified so the average american can understand them. Obama up until 2006 voted with the current administration for the war. He was not in the u.s. senate for the initial vote to invade, but why were his subsequent votes yea instead of nay? Black or not I do not believe he is the best candidate. Politics without economics is a symbol without substance.

Let me prove to you all that I've done my research. Obama talks about health care. "Accessible health care for every single American". Good. That means I can actually go to the doctor. But how much is it gonna cost us? We already need to worry about the cost of taxes, gas, insurance, etc. What does Obama promise for taxes? He promises to raise them! As a matter of fact, he promises to raise them for only a certain percentage of Americans, and lower them for the rest. Then he claims that it's "only fair". But how is it fair to leave 6% of Americans out of the picture? "An increase in the payroll tax of 6 percentage points phased in over many years or decades doesn't strike me as a dramatic move". Obama and his promises of "changes" in my opinion, are nothing but a huge conspiracy. I never liked him from the start. Why? Because he can't back his words up. It's a bit amusing how unfit he is to be president. I'm not racist. I could care less about the color of his skin. I actually did some research, watched the news, etc. I know what I'm talking about. And President Bush IS liable for the gas prices. He's a backstabbing maniac who never should have gotten re-elected.
