Am i seeing Polaris or a different star? How to spot Polaris?

I am not sure if i can see Polaris, i thought i saw it, but then i found out that the big dipper also points towards one of the Stars in the constellation of Draco. SO now im not sure if ive been looking at this star or Polaris?

Not only this, but due to light pollution i cant see the constellation that Polaris would be the handle off.

Any ideas? Or anyone know how to tell the difference between the 2 stars?Am i seeing Polaris or a different star? How to spot Polaris?Take the rightmost 2 stars (not the tail, which is on the left) of the big dipper and extend its distance 5 times upward. There you'll find Polaris.Am i seeing Polaris or a different star? How to spot Polaris?u may use the constellation of cassiopeia but i dunno how.

but using big dipper is easier..

the two stars on the right, make an arrow with that.

the arrow will point to POLARIS.

and easier is find the little dipper.

POLARIS is located at the handle of little dipperAm i seeing Polaris or a different star? How to spot Polaris?use some star charts.

bear in mind that you can only see three stars in ursa minor unless your skies are very dark.
