I'm writing a story and I want to know what constellation or stars you can see on the coast of Staten Island in New York City? What constellations do you see in NYC in late September?Well, if you go to Wagner College's planetarium, you can see any constellation Dennis cares to show you LOL
Seriously, Aries and Pisces on the ecliptic. Pegasus, Cetus, Andromeda, Ursa Major %26amp; Minor, Draco, Cepheus. Your best view would be Great Kills beach looking south and east, or maybe down by the Conference House. In general your biggest problem would be city lights.
Later rising constellations would include Capricorn. Minor ones would include Sagitta. What constellations do you see in NYC in late September? The ten September constellations contain several notable groups such as Aquila, the eagle, Capricornus, the sea goat, and Cygnus, the swan. There are only a few notable deep sky objects found in these constellations. The famous Dumbbell Nebula is located in Vulpecula.
Capricornus and Sagitta each contain a globular cluster while Cygnus contains two open clusters.

If you wait until just before sunrise, you can see Orion and most of the other winter constellations. What constellations do you see in NYC in late September?
I've never been their but I would have to suspect being that close to such a huge city the sad answer would be none, light pollution would drown out all but a few stars. Depressing isn't it?
